Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (abbreviated as LSI) is the leading survey and political consultancy institution in Indonesia. It is founded on 2005 by a group of public opinion makers, researchers, columnists, survey experts, and other individuals known to be authorities in the world of research. LSI is active in committing political surveys, for example during the General Election (Pemilu) or District Head General Election (Pilkada). On 2011, Universitas Kristen Indonesia (UKI) awarded “Achievement Award” to LSI since it was judged that LSI has provided significant contribution to the field of social science, political communication, and election politics in Indonesia. LSI carries the tradition of quantitative social sciences with its ability to predict the future results of various elections. LSI is also considered as experts in making research results as marketable even to the point that they are attractive enough to be published in national media. At the end of 2010 a delegation of US Congress led by Zack Hudgins conducted a meeting with Lingkaran Survei Indonesia. That meeting was a part of their chain of political activities in Indonesia aside from visiting various other institutions such as the House of Representatives (DPR), political parties, and other elite entities of Indonesian politics. Before founding Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (LSI), Denny founded Lembaga Survei Indonesia and for some time have served as its Director. Denny JA founded Lingkaran Survei Indonesia as a statement that a survey and consultancy institution can be profitable.〔“Menikmati Kue Demokrasi Lewat Survei”, Tempo Newspaper, May 5th, 2006〕 The Swa Sembada Magazine wrote that Denny wished to build an institution not only focusing on committing political survey but can also perform political consultancy. Various political parties, such as Partai Golkar, has used LSI’s survey results as consideration in choosing which candidates should be supported in District Head General Election (Pilkada.)〔Jadi 'Dukun Politik' Lewat Metode Survei”, Republika Newspaper, Tuesday, February 27th, 2007〕 As political consultant, LSI’s first client was Ismeth Abdullah, the Governor of Riau Islands. LSI delivered his victory during the election on the Riau Province in 2005. Afterwards, LSI has provided aid to various clients from legislative members to district head candidates. Until 2013, LSI has been recorded of delivering victories up to 24 governors and 55 mayors/regents across Indonesia. Currently, Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (LSI) has developed six subsidiaries: Lingkaran Survei Indonesia (LSI), Konsultan Citra Indonesia (KCI), Lingkaran Survei Kebijakan Publik (LSKP), Citra Publik Indonesia (CPI), Citra Publik Advertising (CPA), and Citra Komunikasi LSI (Cikom).
